The ever evolving 911 just keeps getting better, and whichever model you choose, there is always a fine line between value for money and a quality car.
To some, buying the very cheapest car they can, equates to great value, and very occasionally it is possible to get lucky, however, normally a cheap 911 is just that for a reason, below its shiney coat and wet nose, can lie various cancers, and if not fully understood when buying, will come back and bite without warning.
If one intends to keep a car in top condition, spending that bit more time, and money at the start, is proven to keep the overall costs to a minimum, and enjoyment to a maximum.
Too often we see people who have been caught out buying, what look like great cars, only to find they have some big bills hanging over them.
Arranging a pre-purchase inspection is essential, especially if not buying from a reputable dealer, this can save you thousands!
At launch the 997 was outstanding, and such a vast improvement over the former 996, it felt more grown up, was more capable, and was certainly better looking, sales continued to grow and Porsche were really back on track with their new watercooled range.
With so many units sold, there is now a sea of 997’s available, and if you are in the market for one, there are almost too many to choose from, Gen 1, Gen 2, Manual, PDK, 2 wheel drive, 4 wheel drive, an S model or Turbo, maybe even a GT3, with so much choice, you will always find a better one, or a cheaper one, or maybe even two to choose from, but whatever you decide, set a budget, and set a goal, be realistic about what you want from the car, and be confident you have made the right decision.
Which one is the best? They all are, in their own way, as long as you get a good one to begin with.
Every 911 will one day fail, its a fact, no matter how careful you are, or the opposite, something will go wrong and require repairing, the trick is to know what to do before that day happens, and how to treat the car. Regular maintenance and care will always reduce the risks significantly, and this rings so true with regards to having a good maintenance record.
Finding the most original car you can IS the best way, and being able to trace its history from day 1 is key. Mileage isn’t always the most important factor, but it certainly does help, to a degree.
We are delighted to offer this really fine example, it is exactly the kind of car we love to find. Great spec, great colours, great condition and most importantly nothing to hide.
Fastidious low owners and everything in order, with such lovely low mileage, it wouldn’t matter if you kept it in the garage or used it everyday, as long as you look after it, it will look after you. There are no items that require attention, and this has to be as close as you can get to driving out of the showroom back in 2006.
