How better to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the 993 – presenting this very attractive 1994 Carrera 2, finished in wonderful midnight blue with matching blue hide. Cabriolets don’t come much more stylish and sophisticated than this.

Powered by the wonderful 3.6 Litre flat 6 air cooled engine, it produces a very impressive 268Hp, propelling the car to 60 mph in a little over 5 seconds. Couple this with significant advances in suspension and chassis technology, a silky smooth 6 speed gearbox, and exceptional build quality. It really is no wonder the book “Porsche 993 – Essential Companion” refers to the 993 as the “King of Porsche,” and it is generally acknowledged as “The purists’ Holy Grail.

Supplied by nearby Lancaster Porsche, it was first delivered on the 23rd April 94, and came with the following specification:

It had just three owners up until the 29th of May 2008 when a Mr M Roberts purchased the car. A few years later, as is clear from the service record and receipts on file, it then resided and was registered in the south of France – very near to Monaco – before finally being re-registered in the UK by Gmund cars back in December 2017.

During 2018 Gmund carried out a comprehensive refresh resolving many typical 993 traits, such as scuttle panel corrosion, bonnet and boot ram replacements. They overhauled the brakes and had the leather reconditioned, a new roof was then fitted before finishing with new set of Bridgestone tyres (less than 500 miles ago), unsurprisingly the car now drives as well as it looks; totally defying its 25 years of age!
