The 3.2 Carrera is revered as the ultimate development of the original 911 that first appeared in 1963. These final cars (before being replaced by the more complicated 964) were the most flexible and usable of Butzi Porsche’s original design. Launched in 1984, and reviving the ‘Carrera’ name for the first time since 1977, these surely have to be the ultimate 1980’s sports car! Although appearing to look similar to its predecessor, the SC, the 3.2 Carrera was a vast improvement in performance, handling and driveability.
1989 was the final year of production of the 3.2, and to celebrate 25 years of manufacturing the 911, Porsche offered a 25th anniversary model that included a limited slip differential and short shift gear lever, both of which feature on this example. This 1989 example also possesses the later G50 gearbox, again aiding its desirability and surely its future value.
Finished in Dunkel Blue and complementing blue leather interior this 3.2 Carrera also possesses some rare factory options:
139 – Seat heating, left
197 – Stronger battery
220 – Locking differential 40 %
243 – Shorter shift lever for G50 transmission
340 – Seat heating, right
383 – Sports seat, left, electrical height adjustment
387 – Sports seat, right, electrical height adjustment
425 – Rear window wiper
474 – Sports shock absorbers
559 – Air conditioner
567 – Top-tinted windscreen
650 – Sun-moon-roof
We are delighted to report that unlike most UK examples, and because this car had lived for most of its life abroad in a dry climate, it is as good underneath as it is on top, we welcome any inspections and are certain this car has to be one of the best and lowest mile examples available in today’s market.
It is currently UK registered and has a comprehensive history file to complement its fine condition.
