Finished in stunning Cobalt blue metallic with contrasting full grey leather, it was first delivered in July 2005 through Porsche Wilmslow, and came with nearly every option available at that time.
The best litronic (Xenon) headlights, stylish 19″ sport design alloys, rear park distance control, heated sports seats, PCM Sat nav with phone module, Sports Chrono Pack, and Bose Audio upgrade to name a few.
The “S” specification included round sports tailpipes, larger brakes with calipers painted red, PASM active suspension lowering the car by 10mm and of course an increase in cylinder capacity allowing the 911 to reach over 350bhp and sprint to 60 in under 6 seconds.
For many years, the S was the one to have, until the bore scoring on the 3.8’s began to tarnish its name, it is not so often we would be retailing a slightly higher mileage example such as this, but fortunately we have not only known this car for some years, this year we removed and stripped the engine down to a long block and enlisted market leaders Hartech to carry out a comprehensive (Circa 12k) rebuild to renew and upgrade it after we found the early signs of scoring within.
Fortunately, the previous owner was on board and prepared, and whilst the engine was away agreed we carried out any other related maintenance, coolant lines were replaced along with many other smaller items, and when the engine returned it had an equally well sorted home to return to.
The new engine has now covered a couple of thousand miles and was run in correctly as per Hartech instruction, it has had no less than three oil and filter changes since being refitted. As one would expect it performs beautifully and really does feel strong with endless amounts of power in every gear. The tiptronic gearbox was also treated to an oil change and shifts seamlessly.

Finding a rebuilt 997 is not that uncommon but finding one that has had no expense spared overhaul and not covered another 70K is pretty tricky. This may not be the cheapest 997 cabriolets on the market, but we feel it will certainly be one of the cheaper to own 997’s out there, plus the added bonus and peace of mind knowing the engine has been built by one of the best.
